AMD Ryzen Threadripper Price in India
India retailers like PrimeABGB and MD Computers are already listing these two high end CPUs with MRPs of Rs. 65,488 for the Threadripper 1920X and Rs. 82,008 for the Threadripper 1950X at both stores. The 1900X is priced at $549 in US, so it might cost around Rs. 38,499 before GST and Rs. 45,500 MRP. Intel’s Core i9-7900X with 10 cores and 20 threads is priced at $1000 (approx. Rs. 64000) in US.
AMD launched the Threadripper series as an answer to Intel’s Core-X series, also known as Extreme Edition processors. Just like the Ryzen 7, Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 CPUs launched this year, AMD is offering more cores per dollar in the Threadripper CPUs.
AMD is targeting Threadripper at content creators, gamers and overclockers who want the best performance. These CPUs are much larger than other mainstream ones, and uses a different socket called the TR4. They come with support for quad-channel DDR4 RAM and have 64 lanes of PCIe bandwidth for extravagant multi-GPU setups, and RAID arrays built on thousands of dollars worth of M.2 SSDs. They have a much higher 180W TDP rating and need specific coolers.
Threadripper compatible X399 motherboard are already available from companies like Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and ASRock. Dell already announced several Alienware Area-51 Threadripper edition PCs.
