Archos launched their new selfie–focused smartphone on Tuesday. The smartphone is called Archos 55 Diamond, which is priced at EUR.199.99 (approximately Rs. 15,000), for the model with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. The company also announced a lower version of the smartphone with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM for EUR 179.99 (approximately Rs. 13,500) which will go on sale in October.
Archos 55 Diamond Selfie smartphone will be available through the company’s website and its distribution channel worldwide. The same smartphone is also expected to be showcased at the IFA 2016 in Berlin, on Friday.
Archos 55 Diamond Selfie smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) processor clocked at 1.4GHz. This smartphone has Dragontail glass on the front and back. There is a 5.5 inch Full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display. The handset will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. There is 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded further using a MicroSD card up to 128GB. There is a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear panel.
The handset weighs 184 grams, and dimensions are 155×76.6×7.7mm. Archos 55 Diamond Selfie smartphone has a 16MP camera on the rear with LED flash, which is able to record Full HD videos. There is an 8MP camera with screen flash features on the front. The rear camera comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Ubifocus technology.
Other featureas are 4G LTE, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. The handset comes with a 3000mAh battery and supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology.
