Huawei Terminal brand Honor launched the Honor 8 Pro smartphone in India, after unveiling the handset last month for the country. Main highlights of the smartphone are its dual-rear camera setup, a massive 4000mAh battery and 6GB of RAM.
Honor 8 Pro Price and Availability in India
The Honor 8 Pro will be available exclusively via Amazon priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant in Navy Blue and Midnight Black colour options. The 6GB/64GB variant is not available in India, atleast not yet. The sale exclusively for Amazon Prime members will start at 6pm, July 10 –which also happens to be the start of Amazon Prime Day. Open sales will start from 12am, July 13. During the Prime Day Sale, Prime subscribers will get 15 percent cashback on HDFC Bank credit and debit cards. During the open sale, users will get 45GB of Vodafone data for five months, as well as no-cost EMI options.
The Honor 8 Pro will compete with the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 and the OnePlus 5, which has been priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant. Honor 8 Pro’s HiSilicon Kirin 960 looks same as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset used in OnePlus 5 and Xiaomi Mi6. But the Kirin 960 is less powerful than the Snapdragon 835, so expect the phone to age faster than the OnePlus 5 or other smartphones with the Snapdragon 835.
Honor 8 Pro Specifications
The Honor 8 Pro is powered by a Kirin 960 (4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz + 4 Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.4GHz) coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It has a 5.7-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) LTPS LCD display. It has 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB using a MicroSD card.
The Honor 8 Pro comes with a dual-rear camera setup, it sports two 12MP sensors with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording. One sensor will capture the RGB details and the other captures the image in monochrome. Front camera is 8MP, which can be used for selfies and video call.
This dual-SIM smartphone will run EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The Honor 8 Pro comes with a 4000mAh battery and a fingerprint sensor placed at the back. Connectivity options include 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC.
The Honor 8 Pro’s retail box can be turned into a Google Cardboard viewer for VR experience as well. The smartphone comes with the Galaxy on Fire 3 and Jaunt VR apps pre-installed.
