Flip phones were not in the market for a long time and Samsung is trying to bring them back. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Folder 2, and Android flip phone in China. Some new images of another flip phone leaked a day before. The phone is code-named SM-W2017 and some reports suggests it will be called the Samsung Veyron phone.
This new flip phone will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and Adreno GPU, just like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It will come with a 4.2-inch Super AMOLED full HD display and another 3-inch display for notifications on top of the flip. There will be 64GB internal storage, it is not clear if this device will support MicroSD cards or not. The device is expected to come with a USB Type-C port. It will have a 12MP camera on the rear with dual-pixel phase detection autofocus and the ability to record 4K videos. There will be a 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video call.
Samsung Veyron phone will have fingerprint scanner on the back as well as a heart rate monitor. It will also come with NFC, to support Samsung Pay. There will be a 2000mAh battery to power the device. Just like the Galaxy Folder 2, it might be only for China, and may not see other markets.
