LG V20 is the first phone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat, with the Google In Apps search function, with LG UX 5.0+, an upgraded version of the LG UX 5.0 first introduced on the LG G5, on top. The new ‘In App search’ feature allows the users to search in multiple applications at a time. Users can search emails, text messages, and photos, as well as from user-installed apps at the same time. Android 7.0 Nougat also allows you to run applications in Multi-window mode, that lets you run two apps side-by-side.
LG V20 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820, with two cores clocked at 2.15GHz and the other two running at 1.6GHz. It has 4GB RAM with 32 GB and 64GB storage versions, there is MicroSD card support up to 256GB. There is a main 5.7 inch QHD (2560×1440) IPS Quantum Display, and just like the LGV10, this device has a secondary display. The font size in the secondary display is 50 percent larger than the V10’s, making it easier to view notifications and alerts.
The LG V20 has a dual rear camera setup, a 135-degree 8MP lens with f/2.8 aperture accompanied by 16MP 75-degree lens with f/1.8 aperture, and a 5MP 120-degree lens with f/1.9 aperture on the front. This smartphone’s Hybrid Auto Focus (HAF) integrates three AF mechanisms – Laser Detection AF, Phase Detection AF, and Contrast AF – for both videos and photos. It can also record Hi-Fi videos and the optional Low Cut Filter (LCF) technology is claimed to remove unwanted background noise and Limiter (LMT) while recording audio, which can now be captured using 24-bit / 48 kHz Linear Pulse Code Modulation (LPCM). OIS 3.0 is thrown in for good measure.
As we reported before, LG V20 comes with features like 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (with support for flac, did, diff and alac file formats), HD Audio Recorder, and B&O PLAY speakers, to enhance the audio experience.
The LG V20 is designed to offer customers a more dynamic experience by building on the most popular video and audio features of the V series,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics and Mobile Communications Company. “With the LG V20, we are giving our customers more of everything they love and less of anything they don’t need to set a new standard for premium smartphones.”
LG V20 comes with USB Type-C port and it will be available in titan, silver, and pink colours. The device draws its power from a 3200mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. It has a removable battery with a traditional removable back plate design.
