Reliance Jio is now officially launched and the tariff plans for the network has been announced. LYF was the only device to use Reliance Jio SIM when it was introduced here months ago. LYF launched a new smartphone in their Water series. The LYF Water 11 handset with 3GB RAM is priced at Rs.8199. The smartphone will be available via offline stores such as Reliance Digital and Digital Xpress.
Like all other LYF branded smartphones, Water 11 also comes with a Reliance Jio SIM and following Thursday’s announcement, should fall under the Jio Welcome Offer that gives unlimited data, calling, SMS, and access to Reliance Jio services JioOnDemand till December 31.
The LYF Water 11 smartphone supports 4G LTE – FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) and TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz). The device supports VoLTE with HD voice clarity. This dual SIM (Micro-SIM + Micro-SIM) handset runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Both SIM slots are 4G enabled. At one time only one slot can be used for 4G while the other will work on 2G. LYF Water 11 comes with a 5 inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 294ppi. The display doesn’t have any kind of protection like Gorilla Glass.
Water 11 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735A processor coupled with 3GBRAM and MaliT720 GPU. There is 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a MicroSD card. This smartphone has a 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP sensor on the front. Rear camera can record Full HD videos. Camera app has features like face detection, auto scene detection, face detection, video snapshot, smile shot, and gesture capture.
Other features are 4G LTE Cat4, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB-OTG, and Micro-USB. The device measures 141x70x7.3mm, and weighs 135 grams. It comes with a 2100mAh battery which claims to give backup up to 7 hours.
