Microsoft launched the new Surface Pro 2-in-1 at an event in Shanghai. It is be up for pre-order at a starting price of $799 (approx. Rs. 52,000). The Surface Pro Type Cover with Alcantara fabric will be selling separately priced at $159 (approx. Rs. 10,500) while the regular black Type Covers have been priced at $129 (approx. Rs. 8,500). The next-generation Surface Pen will be sold separately priced at $99 (approx.Rs. 6,500). The shipping will start from June 15, and Microsoft says that it will be available in 25 countries.
Microsoft Surface Pro
The new Surface Pro is powered by Intel’s seventh-generation Kaby Lake processor with a fan-less design. It has a 12.3-inch PixelSense display and supports up to 165-degree hinge.
The device will also support Surface Dial, much like the Surface Studio. It runs Windows 10 Pro and includes Office 30-day trial. The new Surface Pro also comes with optional 4G LTE support using Micro-SIM or eSIM cards. The price information about the LTE models are not yet revealed by the company.
The new next-generation Surface Pen features 4096 levels of pressure and supports tilt sensitivity as well as 21 milliseconds latency. It has an 8MP autofocus camera on the rear as well as a 5MP camera on the front.
