Lenovo will bring the Moto Z smartphone to Indian market this festive season. The Moto Z was launched in June this year globally. Moto Z will allow users to attach a set of accessories to the back of the device, called the Moto Mods. This will add various additional functionalities to the Moto Z smartphone.
“We will launch 8 new devices, of which six we have already announced, in this festive season… This includes the Moto Z,” Lenovo India Executive Director Mobile Business Group Sudhin Mathur told PTI.
Sources suggest that the device might launch in the first or second week of October. Moto Z smartphone is currently available in markets like the US, the UK, and Latin America in three models (Moto Z Play, Moto Z, and Moto Z Force).
Lenovo recently announced the launch of Moto Z Play, a more affordable version of Moto Z modular smartphone announced in June this year. The new product was unveiled at the IFA 2016 in Berlin. The Moto Z Play will be priced at $499 (approximately Rs. 33,500) and it will start shipping in September. Lenovo also announced that the device will be priced at $624 (approximately Rs. 41,750).
It comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There will be a 16MP camera on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front. it will house a 3510mAh battery. The ‘Moto Mods’ will work with all Moto Z series smartphones, including Moto Z, Moto Z Play and Verizon-exclusive Moto Z Force.
The Hasselblad True Zoom Mod is the latest addition to Lenovo’s approach to modular smartphones. Moto Mods like JBL SoundBoost is already here. Other mods are Insta-Share projector, Incipio OffGrid Power Pack that adds a 2200mAh battery to the device, and Style Shells which change the look and texture of the phone.
