HMD Global has launched their entry level Android smartphone – the Nokia 2 in India. The main highlight of this smartphone is the 4100mAh battery which is claimed to delivery up to 2 days of battery life. This smartphone also has a premium design with polycarbonate body and 6000 Series Aluminium frame.
Price details of this smartphone is not yet revealed; the global variant will have an average price of EUR 99 (approx. Rs. 7,500), and it will be made available from November.
Nokia 2 Specifications
This smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC (quad-core, clocked up to 1.2GHz) coupled with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) LTPS In-Cell Touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel fixed focus front camera. The Nokia 2 comes with 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a MicroSD card.
The Nokia 2 is a hybrid dual-SIM (nano) smartphone running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Connectivity options on the Nokia 2 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio with RDS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, and proximity sensor. It measures 143.5×71.3×9.3mm, and is IP52-rated (for drip protection). Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global said the company has ensured the photos are optimised for the best possible effect. The handset will come with Google Assistant, the first one with the digital assistant in its price segment.
