Some websites reported that OnePlus reportedly planning to stop the production on their latest flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 3. They might be doing this to release a new variant of the smartphone called OnePlus 3s or OnePlus 3 Plus. The company is expected to be working on a new version of the phone based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC. The current version is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. But a OnePlus spokesman, the company wont use a new chipset under the OnePlus 3 name, they can launch the OnePlus 4.
Production of OnePlus 3 is not stopped
As far as we know, OnePlus didnt stopped the production of their exisitng flagship. The production sales is still running, may be you will recieve a OnePlus 3 with LCD panel in the future instead of AMOLED, but they wont stop the making of a top selling smartphone. If the company want to add a new geneeration chipset, it will be with the OnePlus 4, they wontlaunch a sub model of the OnePlus 3 with a different chipset.
Another major change is expected with its display. The current version has an AMOLED display, but due to shortage of these panels, OnePlus might use LCD panels in the new version of OnePlus 3. On Tuesday, OnePlus India tweeted “What do you think OnePlus is upto? All shall be revealed soon” with some of the options included for Twitter users to choose from including new smartphone colour variant, new product unveiling, new shopping experience, or new software experience.
OnePlus 3 is now available in India for Rs.27999/-. It comes with a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED 2.5D curved screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 401 ppi pixel density. This smartphone runs on Oxygen OS (Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow) out of the box. It has 6 GB RAM and 64 GB UFS 2.0 internal storage. OnePlus 3 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 quad code processor clocked at 2.15 GHz (Dual Core 2.15 GHz Kyro & Dual Core 1.6 GHz Kyro) with Adreno 530 GPU.
OnePlus 3 has a 16 MP camera using Sony IMX 298 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash on the back. It is a 1 / 2.8” sensor with 1.12 um pixel size. The same sensor is being used in Moto X Style and Huawei Mate 8. On the front there is an 8 MP camera which uses a Sony IMX 179 sensor which is also used in the Nexus 5 which is from 2013. This smartphone has a 3000 mAh non removable battery which can give 4 to 7 hours of continuous backup on heavy to moderate usage.
