Reliance Communications (RCom) on Tuesday launched its new plan which offers 300 minutes of app-to-app calling for Just Rs.1. The plan is called ‘Call Drops Se Chhutkara’ offer, which translates to ‘relief from call drops’. This new plan from RCom is in violation with the principles of net neutrality.
This offer if for Reliance 4G LYE users in Delhi-NCR. This offer applies to voice calling apps like Skype, WhatsApp, IMO, Facebook Messenger and Google Hangouts. The company also offers, HD voice clarity and instant connections, but it will also be effected by the app being used.
RCom detailed the offer as the 300 minutes of app-to-app calling is in fact split over 30 days. Which means users will get 10 minutes a day for a month. The operator said, users will get 7MB data credited into their account, which translates in to 10 minutes of HD voice calls a day.
The daily 7MB data will not be carried over to the next day. If the user uses the data for any other internet use, the app-to-app calling minutes will reduce proportionately.
Commenting on the launch, Gurdeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Consumer Business, Reliance Communications, said, “We have always had a strong emotional connect with Delhi-NCR and the people here, and are excited to redefine voice calling with our ‘Call Drops Se Chhutkara’ offer, providing app-to-app talking and complete freedom from call drops. Using the Reliance 4G LTE network, customers will experience High-Definition quality and instant connectivity, freedom from slow Internet access and blazing data speeds on the digital superhighway. Best of all, existing and new Reliance 4G LTE customers will switch to the new way of calling, and enjoy instant and crystal clear voice with great savings.”
Reliance Jio is almost near the commercial launch. Reliance Jio is already offering free SIM with 90 days Jio Preview offer, which offer free data and calls for 90 days.
