Reliance Jio is planning to connect 90% of the cars in India by 2020. This is reported from team-bhp, that Jio has a plan to connect our cars with the Internet. With the rumored Car Connect OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) service, Reliance Jio can install a hardware in your car that can project information to a software interface on the car. This will give information about the car such as fuel injection, oxygen sensors and more. This will help us to performance tune the card as well as to diagnose for any faults that may affect the vehicle.
The Jio Car Connect device will have a SIM slot, and it will also work as a WiFi hotspot. Users will be also able make call s using the Jio Join app. This gives access to all Reliance Jio Apps, like Jio Music, Jio Cinema, JioTV, etc. on the go. There will be a Jio Car Connect app to see all the information sent from the device. Advanced IoT features will allow versatile usability, such as turning on the AC as you walk towards it. Further data provided may include driving styles, speed alerts and panic braking details.
This new Jio Car Connect OBD system is still in development, and the company has not released any launch date yet. But Reliance is providing a preview of this system at select Jio experience zones in India.
