Samsung is about to launch a new version of Galaxy A8, which was launched last year August. The new smartphone will be called Galaxy A8 (2016), and some key specification was leaked in a previous leak. New renders of Galaxy A8 (2016) were leaked from a reliable leaker @onleaks. The new render shows the smartphone will look like Galaxy S7 from different angles. The leak also reveals the dimensions of 156.5×77.5×7.3mm, which is larger than 142.4x 69.6×7.9mm as that of the Galaxy S7.
The new Galaxy A8 (2016) will be a major upgrade from the last years Galaxy A8. The old smartphone has a full metal unibody design, the new leaks shows the device will have glass design on the front and back. The physical home button is placed right below the 2.5D curved display along with the capacitive buttons. The physical home button is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner. The side panel looks smooth with slight curves edges.
The volume buttons and the SIM tray is placed on the left side, the power button is on the right side and the Micro USB and 3.5mm audio jack are at the bottom. The speaker seems to be placed on the right side, just above the power button. On the back, the phone has the full glass panel and the camera with LED flash.
A smartphone with number SM-A810F was recently spotted on Geekbench and it was expected to be the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2016). This listing show the device will be powered by a Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core chipset clocked at 1.5GHz processor and paired with 3GB of RAM. The device will also have Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and it will have 32GB internal storage. The processor is old, it was also used in older flagship smartphones like Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5. Galaxy A8 (2016) will come with a 5.1-inch full HD display, the older Galaxy A8 had a 5.7 inch dull HD display. The Galaxy S8 (2016) will sport a 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and LED flash, there will be a 5MP front camera for selfie purposes.
There is not much information about the launch date and price. We will have to wait for an official confirmation form Samsung.
