Along with the launch of Galaxy J7 Prime, Samsung also launched the Galaxy J5 Prime. The new smartphone is priced at Rs.14790 and will be available in the country by the end of September.

Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime Specifications
Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime is an upgrade from the Galaxy J5 (2016). Galaxy G5 Prime has a fingerprint scanner on the home button, which was missing in the Galaxy J5 (2016). Galaxy J5 Prime can support up to 256GB MicroSD card, whereas the Galaxy J5 (2016) can only support MicroSD card up to 128GB. The new J5 has a smaller 2400mAh battery compared to the 3100mAh battery in the J5 (2016).
Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime will be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM. It has a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display. There is 16GB internal storage which can be expanded further by 256GB using a MicroSD card. This smartphone has a 13MP camera on the rear with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.
The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) supported Galaxy J5 Prime will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, and 4G. It measures 142.8×69.5×8.1mm, and weighs in at 143 grams.
Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime comes with software features like S Power planning, a reserve battery technology when the battery is running low. Another feature is the S Secure, it can help you to lock or hide apps and more. Galaxy J5 Prime will also come with a Vodafone bundle offer, which will give 9GB data at the cost of 1GB for 3 months.
Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime will compete with the other smartphones in the same segment, like the Xiaomi Mi Max, Moto G4 Plus and Lenovo ZUK Z1. All these three smartphones has battery hardware including a full HD display and larger battery.
