Samsung added two new devices to the J series smartphone family. Samsung launched the Galaxy J2 2016 for Rs.9750/- and Galaxy J Max for Rs.13400/- in India. J2 2016 is a budget smartphone and Galaxy J Max is a phablet. Both handsets come with three moths double data offer from Airtel.
Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 features
The Samsung J2 2016 is powered by a Spreadtrum SC8830 quadcore chipset clocked at 1.5GHz with Mali 400 GPU. The handset has 8 GB internal storage and 1.5 GB RAM. OS is Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Handset has dual sim slots and supports MicroSD cards up to 128 GB. Samsung J2 2016 has a 5 inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. The handset has an 8 MP Auto Focus camera with LED flash on the back and a 5MP camera on the front. J2 2016 has a unique Smart Glow notification LED light around the rear camera. User ca choose select up to four notifications, with unique color for each of them. This feature will also alert if the battery, internal memory or mobile data is low. The handset also has S Bike and Opera Max powered Ultra Data Saving (UDS) modes.
Other features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and FM. Galaxy J2 2016 has a 2600 mAh battery. J2 2016 has a Turbo Speed Technology (TST) that boosts the performance up to 50% when compared with devices which has double the RAM. Samsung claims they have optimized the application management to free up RAM, by shutting down the idle background apps. This handset will be available in Black, Gold and Silver colors. Galaxy J2 2016 will be available from July 10.
Samsung Galaxy J Max features.
Samsung galaxy J max is a 7-inch phablet. The phablet has a 7 inch TFT display with a resolution f 1280 x 800 pixels. J Max is powered by a quad core 1.5 GHz processor with 1.5 GB of RAM. The phablet has 16 GB internal memory, and it can be expanded up to 200GB using a MicroSD card. This phablet has dual sim slots. It has an 8MP AF camera on the rear and a 2MP Fixed Focus camera on the front. Other features are 4G with VoLTE, 3G, 2G, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and FM. Samsung Galaxy J Max comes with a 4000 mAh battery.
Just like Galaxy J2 2016, J Max also has S Bike and Opera Max powered Ultra Data Saving (UDS) modes. Every J Max purchase is eligible for a free Samsung Bluetooth headset and one year premium subscription to Viu, to access Movies, TV shows and more. This tablet will be available in Gold and Black color options at Rs.13400/- from end of July.
J Max will take on with the recently launched Xiaomi Mi Max which is priced at Rs.14,000/-. Mi Max is powered by 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa core with the 3GB RAM / 32GB ROM model.
