Last month Amazon launched their Prime service in India on a trial basis. Flipkart already have a service called Flipkart First running in India. Now Snapdeal also launched similar service called Snapdeal Gold, which promises free next day delivery, free shipping, and extended purchase protection.
Actually Gold service is a little bit different from what Amazon and Flipkart is offering. You don’t have to subscribe to this offer, if any order is eligible according to Snapdeal Gold requirements, it will get upgraded. Only payments made by card, netbanking, using Freecharge, or gift cards. Cash on Delivery offers will not get the benefit.
If available, you will get free next day delivery, and the 7 days’ time frame to return the product will be extended up to 14 days in in this new service. On most orders you will be eligible for Snapdeal gold, if the payment method is not Cash On delivery. Snapdeal also allows people to use a combination of Freecharge cash and Cash on Delivery payments, but only 100 percent prepaid orders will be upgraded to Snapdeal Gold.
In short Snapdeal Gold doesn’t require any sign up for the service just like Amazon Prime and Flipkart First require. Users just have to choose an online payment method and they don’t have to pay for the Snapdeal Gold service. Comparing with other two services, it does offer few features only. Flipkart First will offer you Priority customer care support and Amazon Prime offers early access to deals on the site.
