Sony announced their two new Xperia smartphones, the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact, at the IFA 2016. Sony Xperia XZ will be available from early October and the Sony Xperia X Compact will go on sale from September. No price details are revealed about both smartphones. Sony may reveal the price details close to its local launch.
Sony Xperia XZ is the flagship smartphone among the two. Sony Xperia XZ will be available in a new color called as the Forest Blue. Both smartphones come with Sony’s Triple image sensing technology. Sony Xperia XZ is IP65/IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. Sony Xperia XZ has a 5.2 inch full HD (1080×1920 pixels) display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The handset does support to expand storage up to 200GB using a MicroSD card. Xperia XZ will come with USB Type-C and will support Quick Charge features. This device has a 23 MP rear camera using Sony’s own IMX300 sensor with LED flash. The smartphone features Predictive Hybrid AF which can enable to track and predict the subject’s next move. The front camera is of 13MP. Sony also boasts a new distance sensing with the Laser AF sensor for low light shots. Sony Xperia XZ has a 2900mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia X Compact has a smaller IPS display size of 4.6 inches with a resolution of 720×1280. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor paired with 3GB RAM. Just like Xperia XZ, it has a 23MP rear camera using Sony’s own IMX300 sensor with LED flash. The front camera is using a 5MP sensor. Sony Xperia X Compact also have USB Type-C and it will be available in both single and dual SIM variants.
