Vivo launched the selfie focused V5 smartphone in India priced at Rs. 17,980. The smartphone will be available for pre-order in 22 cities from Wednesday, and go on sale on November 26. The Vivo V5 will be available in Crown Gold and Grey color variants.

The main highlight of the Vivo V5 is its 20MP front camera with a front facing ‘Moonlight Glow’ flash to improve low-light photography. It is a Sony IMX376 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5P lens. Other features are unibody design, dual-SIM (hybrid dual-SIM configuration) support, and runs on Funtouch 2.6 OS based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The Vivo V5 is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. It has a HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and a 3000mAh battery. There is a 13MP PDAF rear camera with single LED flash. The 32GB internal storage can be expanded using a MicroSD card up to 128GB. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the home button which is claimed to be water resistant and fast enough to unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds. Supported sensors are accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and digital compass.
The V5 also comes with Hi-Fi audio support (using the 32-bit AKM AK4376 DAC), and the company is touting a Smart Split 2.0 feature that lets users use two apps side-by-side. Also touted is an Eye Protection Mode that filters blue light.
