Xbox One X

The Xbox One X was called ‘Scorpio’ during development stages, and it will help Microsoft to escalate a battle with market king PlayStation 4. Microsoft also shows 42 upcoming games, out of which, 22 titles will be exclusive to the new consoles.

All existing Xbox One accessories will work with the new console. Microsoft will be using “super sampling” on the One X to make new games look better even on 1080p TVs.

The Xbox One X will come with 6 teraflops of graphical power, which is more than the PS4’s 4.2 teraflops. Microsoft is using a custom GPU running at 1172MHz, Xbox One comes with 853MHz and PS4’s GPU is running at 911MHz. Microsoft is also shipping the Xbox One X with an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies and entertainment, and 1TB of storage. The new console also comes with liquid-cooled vapor-chamber cooling inside, a technology that’s used on high-end PC gaming cards like the GTX 1080.

There aren’t many external changes over the Xbox One S design, but the new Xbox is the “smallest Xbox ever”. For now, Microsoft is only shipping the Xbox One X with the black design and 1TB of storage.

The Sony PlayStation 4 Pro is available at Rs. 38,990 and the PlayStation VR bundle with PS4 camera will cost Rs. 41,000. PS VR bundle without the camera is made available later this year at Rs. 37,990. The standard PS4, is available in a lighter and slimmer model, which starts at Rs. 27,990.

Update (13-06-2017): According to a new report, the Xbox One X won’t have support for virtual reality. The lack of VR means, some people will not buy the new console from Microsoft and will go for the Sony PS4 and PS4 Pro. Both these consoles from Sony has support for VR through the PS VR headset.
