You can now purchase Xiaomi Mi 5 for Rs.22999 from online stores. Before the price cut, 32 GB Mi 5 model was launched for Rs.24999 in March 2016. Mi 5 is the company’s most expensive phone launched in India so far. OnePlus 3 was the main competitor for Mi 5, and OnePlus 3 was somehow the winner. Now there is a wider gap between both devices in terms of price.
Xiaomi Mi 5 Features
Xiaomi Mi 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 1.8GHz for two cores and 1.3GHz for the other two. There is 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and the device comes without MicroSD card support. Mi 5 comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display, with a pixel density of 428ppi. There is a 16MP camera on the rear with four-axis optical image stabilisation and a 4MP camera on the front. The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0. This VoLTE supported handset has IR blaster, NFC and Quick Charge 3.0 support. Other features are WiFi 802n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and a 3000 mAh non-removable battery. There were 64GB and 128GB version in China, these models are not launched in India. The news comes a day after the company announced its sales in India have grown by 72 percent in the last two years.

Xiaomi India head Manu Jain tweeted that the smartphone has got a price cut and is now available on Flipkart and on the company’s official website mi.com at the new price. The price cut is effective for all three colors — white, black and gold.

Recently Samsung also give a price cut for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Both devices received a price cut of Rs.5000. Samsung Galaxy S7, which was launched at a price of Rs 48,900, now it is available at Rs 43,400. The Galaxy S7 Edge is now available at Rs 50,900, which was launched at Rs 56,900.
