Xiaomi launched its first smart home product in India, the Mi Air Purifier 2 priced at Rs. 9,999. Mi Air Purifier 2 will be available from 12am September 26 via Mi.com and from 12AM October 2 via Flipkart. It was launched in China back in November last year priced at CNY 699 (approx. Rs. 7,100). Along the Mi Air Purifier 2 the company also launched the new Mi Band 2 priced at Rs. 1,999 in India.

The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 come with triple layer filter which should be replaced in every 6 months, and it will alone cost Rs. 2,499. If you are living in a highly polluted area like Bangalore or Delhi, you might want to change the filter in every 3 or 4 months. The filter is in a cylindrical shape for 360-degree filtering, and features a PET pre-filter, an EPA filter, and an activated carbon filter.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 can be controlled using the Mi Home app using WiFi and it is available for both Android and iOS. This app will give details about the air quality including humidity, temperature and it lets users to share control with other users or family members. Using the app, we can set timer to control the air purifier and it will remind you to change the filter.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 2 has three working modes – auto, night (sleep) and manual. While working at night (sleep) mode, it will produce just 30dB of noise, which is quite silent. It measures 520x240x240mm, and weighs 4.8kg including the filter. It has a clean air deliver rate (CADR) of 310 cubic metres an hour, and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.
