Along with the launch of the Mi Air Purifier 2, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Band 2 in India priced at Rs. 1,999. The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 will go on sale from September 27 via Mi.com and will be available via amazon from September 30.

The new Xiaomi Mi Band 2 improved a lot compared to the old generation Mi Band. The new version comes with an Oled display and a heart rate sensor. The older Mi Band was launched in India on April 2015 and it costed Rs. 999. The Mi Band 2 was launched back in June in China.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 focuses on the user’s health by helping track fitness and sleep patterns. One of the major improvement with the Mi Band 2 is the addition of the 0.42-inch Oled display. It shows time, steps taken and heart rate. The company also added the PPG (photo plethysmography) sensor to detect heart rate. PPG sensor was not available in old generation Mi Band.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 comes with a 70mAh battery, which according to the company can provide up to 20 days of standby time. The first generation had up to 30 days of battery life, the Oled display will need more power and it was missing in the first generation Mi band.
Just like the first generation Mi Band, this one also vibrates to notify us about incoming calls, alarms and other notifications. The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is compatible with devices running on Android 4.4 and above as well as iOS 7.0 and above.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 has Bluetooth 4.0 LE to connect with the smartphone and it is water resistant with IP67 certification. This Mi Band is 40.3mm in length and 15.7mm in width, and side width is 10.5mm. It weighs just 7 grams and is built using skin friendly thermoplastic elastomers material and flaunts aluminium. It will be available in Black, Blue, Green, and Orange colors. The device is water resistant with IP67 certification.
