Xiaomi launched the Mi Mix 2 smartphone at an event in China. Main highlights of this smartphone are a massive 5.99-inch bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio, ceramic body, 6GB RAM, and facial recognition technology. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has a 12-percent smaller chin (bottom bezel) than the previous generation Mi Mix with the help of a hidden sound-guided speaker as well as an ultrasonic proximity sensor. Xiaomi also launched a Special Edition model of Mi Mix 2 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 price, first sale date
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 with 6GB RAM/64GB storage is priced at CNY 3,299 (approx. Rs. 32,300). 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant will cost CNY 3,599 (approx. Rs. 35,300) and the 6GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant has been priced at CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs. 39,200). The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Special Edition with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage has been priced at CNY 4,699 (approx. Rs. 46,000).
The sale will start in China on Friday, September 15 and registrations for the sale has been started already. The Special Edition model will be available from November only.

Followed by the launch in China, Xiaomi India teased the launch of Mi Mix 2 in India.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Features
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has a 11.9 percent smaller in the body than the Xiaomi Mi Mix, 2.5 percent thinner, and 11.5 percent lighter. It is also 7 percent smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus, which has a 5.5-inch display. The regular edition will be made available in Black colour, the Special Edition will be available in both Black and White colour variants. The frame holding in the four-sided curved ceramic body is made of 7-series aluminium.
The hidden speaker uses a ‘cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology’ that resonates the sound through the metal frame and delivers it through the screen itself – completely hiding the speaker on the smartphone. This is achieved with 50mW membrane speaker, sound guiding tube, and a sound hole.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Specifications
It is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC clocked at up to 2.45GHz and coupled with 6GB of RAM (8GB RAM for the Special Edition). The display is 5.99-inch FHD (1080×2160 pixels) 18:9, with a pixel density of 403ppi and a DCI-P3 colour gamut. Rear camera is 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with 1.25-micron pixels, 4-axis OIS, 5-piece lens, an f/2.0 aperture, as well as a facial recognition feature. Front camera is 5MP, also with facial recognition feature. This smartphone will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variants, there is no support for MicroSD card.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is a dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) smartphone running MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C. The regular variant of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 measures 151.8×75.5×7.7mm, and weighs 185 grams. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 Special Edition on the other hand measures 150.5×74.6×7.7mm and weighs 187 grams. It has a 3400mAh battery. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and ultrasonic proximity sensor.
