Xiaomi launched their new Redmi version in India. The Redmi 3S will be the successor of Redmi 2 Prime, which is in sale in India currently. This handset will be Xiaomi’s first fully Made-in India device. According to the company from the box to phone accessories are made in the country itself. Redmi 3S will be exclusively available from Mi.com and Flipkart.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S Features
Xiaomi Redmi 3S is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa Core (4 x 1.4 GHz and 4 x 1.2 GHz) processor with Adreno 505 GPU. This handset comes with a 5 inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. There will be 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and a 3GB RAM/32GB ROM variants. You can also expand the storage up to 128 GB using a Micro SD card. If you use a Micro SD card, you won’t be able to use the dual SIM feature because of the hybrid sim slot. Redmi 3S has a 13 MP PDAF (phase detection autofocus), f/2.0 aperture, HDR mode camera on the back and a 5 MP camera on the front. The 13 MP sensor will be able to shoot Full HD videos. The 3GB RAM/32 GB ROM version has a finger print reader on the rear side of the phone and an IR blaster .
The dual sim handset uses hybrid slot (Micro+Nano), and supports 4G LTE. Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be running MIUI 7.5 based Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. The Aluminium alloy curved edge will offer better grip and will weight only 144, measures 139.3×69.6×8.5mm. The battery non-removable battery is of 4100 mAh capacity. The handset does support 4G, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, Glonass, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Micro-USB and Bluetooth.
This handset will be available in Gold, Grey and Silver colour variants. Redmi 3S has two versions, one is with 2GB RAM + 16 GB ROM which costs Rs.6999 and the Redmi 3S Prime with 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM/fingerprint sensor version, which will costs Rs.8999. The 32 GB version costs Rs.1000 less than the 16 GB Redmi Note 3.
Out of the two models, the Prime version will go on sale starting August 9, 12 noon, Redmi 3S model will go on sale a week later.
